Report from www.GoHuskies.com:
SEATTLE - In each of his four seasons, senior Brent Richards (Camas, Wash.) has led the Huskies in scoring but for the first time in his career has scored 10 goals in one season. Richards scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory for the No. 23/24 Huskies over Cal in Pac-12 play Sunday afternoon.
The Washington Women fell 4:1 at Oregon State.
“We were much better against Cal this time,” said head coach Jamie Clark. “I thought we deserved to win today. I thought we snuck out of there with a win last time but we deserved this win and its promising signs of moving forward.”
UW improves to 10-3-2 on the year and 5-2-0 in league play while Cal falls to 3-7-4, 0-5-2.
After a scoreless first half in which shots were 9-6 UW, the Huskies outshot Cal 15-3 in the second half.

The goal came in the 75th minute as junior Quinton Beasley (Camas, Wash.) was pulled down inside the box. Richards then stepped up for the penalty kick and although Cal’s keeper, Kevin Peach dove to his right, the correct direction, Richards drove it by him.
On scoring his 10th goal of the season Richards said, “It means a lot. It comes from hard work from people like Beasley and (Jake) Hustedt getting in the box and drawing PK’s. It feels good to get that.”
Richards had five shots in the game while junior Ben Fisk(Federal Way, Wash.) had four. A total of 10 Huskies took at least one shot.
Spencer Richey(Seattle, Wash.) made four saves in goal and now has seven shutouts on the season, playing all 1400+ minutes for the Huskies.
UW will head to Southern California next weekend to face national ranked UCLA and SDSU.
