Tacoma trailed twice by three goals, unable to stop the Express from jumping out to a 3:0 first quarter lead and then unable to stop Turlock from breaking the game open in the fourth quarter.
The Stars had rallied to draw the match 4:4 and it was 5:5 going into the final quarter. Turlock got all of the goals in the final segment to pull out the 8:5 win.
Kevin Sakuda and Eli Gordley, both new to the Stars this year, each scored two goals for Tacoma. Turlock was led by the hat trick of Jorge Quiroz. The Express also got braces from Juan Flores and Jose Barajas.
Despite gaining two fourth-quarter power play advantages the Stars were unable to rally against the Express defense.
The same two sides are at it again on November 5th before the Stars take month a off leading up to their home opener December 3rd against the Phoenix Monsoon at Starfire Sports Complex.
