PASL action came alive again last night around the state of Washington. There were matches in Tukwila, Tumwater and Bellingham. See recaps at the link below.
San Diego Sockers-13 Tacoma Stars-6
The Sockers won their 22nd straight match over two seasons with what ended up being an easy win over the Stars. The Sockers used two clusters of goals to make it a rout. Brian Farber scored five for San Diego. Tacoma rallied from down 7-1 to make it 7-4 late in the third quarter. Then the Sockers scored six straight to ensure the victory. The Stars were led by the two goals of Mark Lee.
The match doubled as an Arena Open match. The win advances the Sockers into the Western final of the U.S. Open Cup for Arena Soccer, where they will face the Turlock Express on Jan. 21 at the Del Mar Arena in San Diego.
The Stars’ record falls to 3-6 while the Sockers improve to 8-0.
South Sound Shock-8 Wenatchee Fire-4
The Shock played their relocated home opener in Tumwater and scored their second straight win over the Fire. Nate Ford and Lukas Rydberg each scored twice for South Sound. See a match photo gallery here.
WSA Rapids-7 Kitsap Pumas-7
The battle of two undefeated clubs ended with both still being able to make that claim. A rare draw indoors in Bellingham as the Pumas tied the Rapids. The Pumas fell behind early 2-0 but led with 12 seconds to go, 7-6, until the Rapids drew level on a power play goal by Sean Conner.
