Video Buzz: Rapids top Pumas 8:4 to take PASL NW title


The Whatcom Soccer Academy (WSA) Rapids doubled up the Kitsap Pumas 8:4 on Saturday night before a Kitsap record indoor crowd of 505 to take the PASL Premier NW Division title and move on to San Diego for nationals.

The Rapids were again led by leading scorer Kellan Brown (19 goals) who notched 2 goals. along with Oscar Jimenez who also scored 2 goals. Sean Conner, Brendan Quilici, Scot Swanson, and Nick Saletto each collecting one goal each.

The Rapids will be in San Diego the weekend begining March 9. Here is a look at the PASL Premier National Tournament Schedule.

The premier finals will consist of 3 Groups of 3 teams each. Premier finals games are 2 -18 minute halves. The championship game is 4-10 minute quarters.

Group A to date: Sockers Premier

Group B to date: Deft Touch

Group C to date: Las Vegas Knights

Rocky Mountain Division: Colorado Blizzard has qualified as the number 1 seed.

Pacific Division: Tournament Qualifier Pending

Great Lakes: Division Championship Pending

Midwest: Division Championship Pending

South Central: Pending Division Champion

Northwest: WSA Rapids

First Alternate Teams: Revolucion Premier, Arizona Heat- Pending Nor Cal Tournament Qualifier happening, and if any other teams cannot make the travel.

Friday March 9th:

Game 1- 9:30AM- A2 vs A3- Sockers Premier will be A2 or A3.

Game 2- 10:15AM- B2 vs B3

Game 3- 11:00AM- C2 vs C3

Game 4- 11:45PM- A1 vs A3

Game 5- 12:30PM- B1 vs B3

Game 6- 1:15PM- C1 vs C3

Game 7- 2:00PM- A2 vs A1

Game 8- 2:45PM- B2 vs B1

Game 9- 3:30PM- C2 vs C1

Game 10- 4:15PM- 8th and 9th Seed Elimination Game-

Pro Semi-Finals- 6:00PM- Eastern 1 Seed vs Western 2 Seed and 8:00PM- SD Sockers vs Eastern 2 Seed

Saturday March 10th:

Game 11- 10:00AM- 3rd Seed vs 6th Seed- Quarterfinal

Game 12- 10:45AM- 1st Seed vs Game 10 winner- Quarterfinal

Game 13- 11:30AM- 2nd Seed vs 7th Seed- Quarterfinal

Game 14- 12:15PM- 4th Seed vs 5th Seed- Quarterfinal

Game 15- 1:30PM- Game 11 winner vs Game 12 winner – Semifinal

Game 16- 2:15PM- Game 13 winner vs Game 14 winner- Semifinal

Game 17- 4:00PM- Championship Game- 15 winner vs Game 16 winner: The championship game is 4-10 minute quarters.

Pro Championship: 6:00PM

    Always good to see the best team representing the northwest . Good luck to the rapids at nationals . Not an easy tournament to win .
