What happens when the club with the best goal differential in the WPSL Northwest meets the one with the worst? A blow out.
That’s exactly how it played out Friday night at Issaquah High School as Issaquah SC stomped the winless Oregon Rush 8:0. It was 5:0 at halftime.
Joanna Houplin scored a hat trick in the first 30 minutes of play for ISC. Houplin found the back of the net in the 3rd, 19th and 30th minutes.
Other first-half goals came from Arica Slawson (17th minute) and Maylee Attin-Johnson (19th Minute).
The rout was complete with second-half goals for Issaquah from Attin-Johnson (51st), Shawna Anderson (85th) and Kaua Wall (88th).
Issaquah improves to 5-1-2 with 17 standings points. Across the state in Spokane the Shine battled to a 1:0 win over Eugene Metro Azul to stay very much alive in the playoff race.
