The Western Conference will be hosted by the Southwest Division champion Ventura County Fusion at Ventura College, where they will be joined by Southwest Division runner-up FC Tucson and the Northwest Division’s Sounders FC U23 and Portland Timbers U-23s. The Sounders took a 3-1 victory against the Washington Crossfire on Saturday night to advance from the divisional playoff, while the Timbers ended the reign of defending PDL champions the Kitsap Pumas 2-1 on Sunday night in their playoff contest.

The Seattle Sounders Women took two of three matches over the weekend in Southern California to run away with the number two spot behind the powerhouse Pali Blues. The Sounders’ 10-3-1 record included two losses to Pali. The two teams will match up next week, July 22nd, for the Western Conference Championship. The match will kick off at 1pm, with radio coverage on 1150AM and 1150kknw.com starting at 12:45pm. There was plenty of drama in the WPSL as the regular season closed out. The Spokane Shine won two matches to finish 6-2-2 and take the division and a playoff spot. The two first-year Seattle area sides battled in a derby over the final week, coming away with just two points each from two 1:1 draws. Still, the state of Washington matched the PDL output in this league as well, putting three of four clubs in the top four.  The Shine will travel to San Diego where they will play the host SeaLions in the opening conference semifinal match at 5:00 pm PT July 21. San Diego won the Pacific-South Division with a 5-1-0 record, outscoring their opponents 20-3.
