Keeping up with the heat in Kitsap

The temperatures were hitting record territory on Sunday August 5th on the Kitsap Peninsula, but that didn’t stop the KASL (Kitsap Adult Soccer League) from playing its summer session matches. I dropped by Gordon Field and took a few photos of a match between teams from North Kitsap and Bainbridge. (This is the Kitsap Pumas’ practice field, too.)

The Field Turf surface amped up the mercury and the players seemed OK with the final whistle coming when it did. When I drove past the field later on the way home another match was going on, and temperatures on the pitch were well over 100 degrees.

North Kitsap (white) beat Bainbridge (blue) in the match.
