goalWA.net broke the news over on our Facebook page last week that the Kitsap Pumas were planning to find a new home for 2013. Now the Kitsap Sun has printed the story and added details as club owner Robin Waite opens up about the search.
While seeking out a new venue, Waite is also looking to get out of a contentious relationship with the Bremerton School District, which oversees use of Memorial Stadium.
Waite’s Kitsap Soccer Club filed a lawsuit April 27 in Kitsap County Superior Court, contending that the Bremerton School District refused to grant the club a credit totaling $137,725.
The clear target is Gordon Field, near the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. The Pumas practice there and the fields have become a staple for local soccer, especially since Field Turf and bleachers were added.
Much work would need to be done to meet PDL requirements of locker rooms, press box and room for a minimum of 500 spectators.
The current main field has some parking, and room on all sides for added seating. See a few photos of Gordon Field below.
Scope out soccerpro.com for some great prices on soccer jerseys. And don't forget, we've got some sweet indoor soccer shoes for any player too.
