It has been a very busy off-season for the Professional Arena Soccer League. The Tacoma Stars have been watching with interest as the league they play in transforms before their eyes.
Former Stars player and head coach (Tacoma native) Greg Howes is the head coach of the new Las Vegas Legends. The Stars are set to announce their new head coach soon.
The league is bursting with a total of five expansion sides announced so far. The Dallas Sidekicks, Harrisburg Heat, Las Vegas Legends, Rockford Rampage, and Sacramento Surge have been added for the 2012/13 season. http://paslsoccer.com/
Today the league announced that Tijuana would lose and then gain a club.
9/11/12 – The Professional Arena Soccer League announced it has approved the sale of Revolucion Tijuana to Joe Pollard, who guided the team to a team-best 10-6 record last year as Head Coach.
The rights to the name Revolucion Tijuana will stay with the previous owners Ramon Quezada and Eduardo Velez.
With the sale of the team finalized, Pollard unveiled a new name and a new logo for the 2012/13 season. The team, which has played the last three seasons in the PASL, will now be known as Toros Mexico.
“We would like to thank Ramon and Eduardo for their hard work in establishing a PASL foothold in the Tijuana market,” said PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken. “At the same time the baton has been handed to Joe Pollard and we look forward to a new and exciting chapter of PASL arena soccer in Tijuana.”
The Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL-Premier) affiliate of the Toros, Toros Premier, went 6-2 in the recently completed summer season and Pollard has been conducting a series of tryouts throughout the offseason.
The new website www.torosdemexico.com is live and features the new Toros logo.
