Arlington Reign sounds good.
they shoudnt be allowed to have a team so close to other teams hurtimg the program!!!!
You must be from Marysville or Snohomish. Aren’t there enough good players for everyone?
maybe the other teams should find better players or have better programs to attract those players.
no an outsider looking in who has been around the PASL for a very long time. It does hurt the player pool… why put in one team and possibly lose 2 to 3 teams? How do you build on that especially when you are only miles away … It use to be you had to be a certain distance from one another to start a team which seems reasonable …
Insider info suggests the NW Division could have up to nine clubs this year, so that would be gaining and not losing. We shall see…
I like Arlington Reign.
And another team doesn’t hurt programs it only encourages growth an opportunities. Don’t be upset.
You must not know much about how it works… or have not been around the program enough. If that was the case then why dont we have 2 Seattle MLS soccer teams in the area or another NFL team? Really??? When you are 7 miles away from another team taking from same player pool and sponsors not really a great idea. It is a conflict … and if you need to know I am a player and this has caused a lot of animosity and drama to some of us.
I do know how it works. I also know that these soccer centers already compete for customers / teams / players, so competing in the same league would just be an extension of what is already going on, wouldn’t it?
Great nine clubs… not 7-10miles apart? Really???? If it takes away from player pool sponsorships etc and causes to much drama teams will drop out.
Bellingham, Bremerton, Tacoma, Tumwater, Wenatchee, Bend (Oregon), Marysville, Arlington, Snohomish…most clubs are spread out.
No it is totally different, the PASL had a rule in place up to last year that you could not put a team in if it affected or was in a certain distance of another club, all of a sudden that has changed , as a player and have been apart of the PASL for a very long time it is very stressful and frustrating, as it has been for the last couple of months for a lot of us players, just no one has said anything, and those who try and talk to the PASL… no one seems to care.
It would be more understanding if it were new teams coming from other areas such as seattle, Woodinville, etc… But not as close as some of these teams are same general area that hurts those programs who are trying to build it takes away from that… They have to start over possibly and rebuild… Just seems un fair and not right to them…
No most clubs are not spread out… Marysville and Arlington are less than 7 miles away they almost have the same address both are located in Arlington!!!!
“Most” = six of the nine clubs are further apart. Calm down.

Marysville was going to have to “rebuild” anyway, after a poor first season. Snohomish Skyhawks might suffer the most from a new team in Arlington, but they will have to adjust somehow.
Snohomish is close some what too but atleast it is some distance away… they pull a lot from Bothell area lynnwood etc….
A poor first season for Marysville?? How do you say that? For a first year team they worked very hard and did well… They also jumped in starting a new arena only opening up in late November, late tryouts , they busted butt and did well for such a short time… Really unfair to disregard them they did ok for only first season and short time…Opening a new business starting new team thats a lot in only a 3 months time dont you think??? The other arenas have been established and around for awhile…. You dont support them???
.
they got destroyed every game, ya, poor season
A new team… geesh give em a break!!!
I thought this was to support all local soccer clubs…
Marysville won one game out of 8. So the record speaks for itself. This website is for ALL clubs, but we still report wins and losses. Anyone can send us info about their teams to goalWA@gmail.com. Clubs / arenas who send us stuff get it put online. Those who don’t send us stuff, or answer our emails, don’t get coverage because of that.
BTW, Premier (Marysville) and Soccer First (Arlington) are actually 5.9 miles apart, according to google maps.
Well they are new and are trying and should get some leeway…Not easy opening up something new… It is a great arena very nice and I hope they do well… And as for there record yes they won one game and that is great for a new team with un experienced players who had to learn the system… Very sad they get no support.. And again they are learning and new… remeber when the other arenas started up with new owners??? They were established arenas theres is new all around… it takes time and maybe you should reach out to them. As a player I have played in there arena and it is a great place, the field is great!! And it has a lot of potential …..
I have sent four or five emails to them and they have not responded. We wanted to “cover” the Marysville Ruckus last year, but they did not help us out with any information…
Yup point exactly…. 5.9 miles apart…. come on really and are4 both in Arlington…..
How it works: send us info, and we publish it: goalWA@gmail.com answer our emails, you get press: goalWA@gmail.com
It is sad how badly they are being treated by others around.. I give them kuddos for jumping in and starting something new as for arenas we need them in the Northwest and there is a lot of business , enough for everyone for these arenas. It is sad that these two arenas couldnt work together and build a bigger better program together..especially since they are so close….sad all the animosity…
Next time Im in Marysville I will let them know how to contact you… It would be good for them…
Thanks!
It’s called expanstion. You know why Seattle onl has one MLS team? cause we have only had a team for 4 years. LA and Chivas play out of the same place. Two teams same city
What do you think kitsap pumas long time goal will be? I’m sure if they keep moving in the direction they are moving now, 5-8 years down the road they could have a team in the MLS. Why would a league say no to more teams? Arlington hasn’t done anything wrong and as far as drama goes, I haven’t seem any of it at arlington, can’t say the same about marysville.
Havent seen any drama in Marysville.. It is a great fun place to play at the atmosphere is fun.. not stuffy.
Best of luck to all of Ruck
Ruckus * this season
Maybe one of these teams could join the pasl pro in the 2013 or 2014 season , and be out of Everett .
A little bit of knowledge for you , Turlock , Salem , and a few other cities have had two teams playing out of the SAME arena for years in the past . It seemed to work out just fine for those teams . Turlock is now pro.
The shock and stars pull from the same talent pool in Tacoma . Neither team complains about that . Since most of the guys are on one team or the other they support eachother
I’m a long time player and coach and I think adding new teams just means we bring more players and press to the game which is always a good thing. Adding a PASL team to Arlington should bring players down from farther north who might not get a chance to play at a higher level elsewhere. Bham has a lot of WWU players. Also, there’s drama in every arena, club, etc. at some level. Ruckus had experienced players, don’t cut it short or use that as an excuse. If you want a better team then build it with the players you get. Don’t complain that adding another team will lower the competition on your own. If your players leave then maybe you should ask yourself why they are leaving. It’s easy to point finger in every direction except within. When Snohomish started it did pretty well, when Seattle started it did pretty well, Tacoma and Kitsap too. Let’s be honest here, most of these players will never see anything above rec. PASL isn’t exactly a doorway to high leagues. PASL pro are just teams who have the financial resources to be in the higher division. Any of these north teams could add to the pro team with money. With the exception of California, most of these players are going to be playing local and not for a living. I say welcome Arlington to the league, welcome the addition of new competition, welcome more players to the beautiful game.
