Tacoma Soccer Center gets new turf, offers free youth soccer sessions

The Tacoma Soccer Center has made some very significant changes this year. Owner and benefactor Lane Smith has turned the soccer operations to a non-profit organization and has provided the financial backing for much-needed improvements.

“We are committed to supporting the soccer community, especially youth, and always maintaining the area’s best indoor soccer value,” says Director of Soccer Operations Adam Becker, adding “This past year the TSC has also provided countless hours of free field time to deserving youth and adult teams.”

FIFA-approved Field Turf is the new surface at the main Tacoma Soccer Center pitch.

Recently the facility completed installation of FIFA-approved Field Turf on its main field. “We are very proud that we have  just installed new FIELD TURF brand turf on our main field, along with several other upgrades. We now have two newly remodeled fields and are the only facility in the area with a youth specific field,” Becker says.  “Having two fully operational fields, the TSC can now be at full capacity year round with not only soccer leagues but room for youth classes, clinics, our new Lil’ Kickers program , birthday parties and field rentals.”

The latest news from the Tacoma Soccer Center is the announcement of free youth soccer sessions starting next Monday, September 17.

“Living up to our mission of giving back to the community, we are pleased to announce free youth soccer sessions  from September 17th – October 17th,” states Becker. “We understand that not every youth player was able to get on a fall outdoor team due to availability, finances, or time. This is our way of making sure every youth that wants to participate in a soccer program can. The free soccer will consist of drop in style of play where you bring your child down and our staff will form up teams and play games. You do not have to bring in a full team! We will fill a spot with individuals and they will be placed onto a team. Ages, groupings and times for the free youth soccer will be posted at www.tacomasoccercenter.org and our Facebook page. MONDAY: BOYS U10-U11 3:30p.m. – 4:30p.m. / GIRLS U10-U11 4:30p.m. – 5:30p.m.
TUESDAY: BOYS U12-U13 3:30p.m. – 4:30p.m. / GIRLS U12-U13 4:30p.m. – 5:30p.m.
WEDNESDAY: BOYS U14-U15 3:30p.m. – 4:30p.m. / GIRLS U14-U15 4:30p.m. – 5:30p.m.
FRIDAY: BOYS and GIRLS U10 & YOUNGER 3:30p.m. – 5:30p.m.

Players are already using the new pitch at the Tacoma Soccer Center.
