TACOMA, Wash. - Mark Lee scored in overtime to lift the Tacoma Stars to a 9:8 home opening win over the Turlock Express on Saturday night November 17 at the Pacific Sports Center. According to a social media post Lee (a Puyallup native) scored a hat trick for the home side, and won the match when a Turlock defensive error was converted by the forward only 20 seconds into overtime.
The Stars are now 1-1 on the young PASL season after a next-day rematch on Sunday November 18 went to the Express, 15:10.
The opening night match was attended by nearly 500 fans in the debut of the Pacific Sports Center as a PASL venue. There was bleacher seating, a standing area as well as a beer garden. See scoring box below.
