MARYSVILLE, Wash. — The Kitsap Pumas remain unbeaten after two PASL Premier matches after the visitors from Bremerton took a 9:2 victory on Saturday night December 8 at Marysville Indoor Sports. The match was closer than the final score would indicate.

Wilson Tsoi shot the first half for goalWA.net and you can see his Ruckus – Pumas gallery at Facebook.com/goalWA.

Kitsap head coach Dustyn Brim, also the team’s starting goalkeeper, praised the efforts of both clubs as he watched this one from behind the boards due to injury.

“It was a competitive game. Marsyville were gracious hosts,” Brim said afterwards.

The match saw a scoreless for the first period before Kitsap jumped ahead 3-1 at half.

“We focused a bit more on putting things on target after half time,” Brim said of one Pumas adjustment. The focus worked as Kitsap opened the game up to 6-1. ” The Ruckus battled back to 6-2. We scored a power play goal. Then two quick ones. They pressed hard at the end but we were able to possess the ball and keep the play.”

Adam Beach had a hat trick for Kitsap. Matt Freisen and Justin Stoddard had a couple. Scott Ford had one.  Marshall Reece “played excellent in goal,” as Brim’s replacement, Dustyn explained.  The coach was relieved to travel back to West Sound  still unbeaten.

“That’s going to be a tough place for teams to have to play,” Brim concluded.

Victor Navarro scored both Marysville goals. He was a member of the Pumas last PASL season. The Ruckus are winless after two league matches.
