Teresa Noyola, then with #1-ranked Stanford, beat the Washington Husky Women with an overtime header in Seattle back in 2011. Wilson Tsoi shot that game and when Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL announced their allocated players on January 11th Tsoi’s memory was triggered. He had caught the winning goal sequence from several angles.
Noyola is a highly-regarded player allocated to the Reign by the Mexican National Women’s Team. She is a winner of the 2011 Hermann Trophy, for best female player in all of college soccer.
Wilson went digging and found more shots of that afternoon at Husky Soccer Field. See them below.
The next time Teresa scores a goal in Seattle, the reaction by the locals is bound to be much different!
