Sounders Women 2013 Open Tryout details

TUKWILA Wash— On March 16 and 17, the Sounders Women will hold open tryouts for the 2013 Sounders Women roster. All players looking to join the Sounders Women can test their skills in front of Sounders Women coaches and staff with a chance to be a Sounder. Registration is now active on SoundersWomen.com.

Tryouts will be held at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Washington.  All pre-registered players will participate in tryouts on Saturday, March 16. The top players from the Saturday session will be asked to return for the final day of tryouts on Sunday, March 17. Tryouts will be held on Starfire’s Field #11 from noon until 2pm each day.

Sounders Women Technical Director, Lesle Gallimore said, “An open try-out is an outstanding opportunity for players with the work ethic, passion for the game, and the talent to perform at a high level to be seen by staff and afforded the chance to make the Sounder Women roster.”

“Each year great players slip through the cracks of recruiting and other soccer institutions. These open tryouts give everyone a chance to prove themselves and show their quality,” Sounders Women Director of Communications, Jon Billings said. “Every year talent is picked up from open tryouts to fight for a spot on the team.”

Open tryouts are open to female soccer players, ages 16 years and older. Tryouts will feature small-sided as well as 11v11 games. Players will be assessed by members of the Sounders Women technical and coaching staffs, including Sounders Women Technical Director, Lesle Gallimore.

“There are a tremendous number of talented female players in Washington, and by having an open try-out it will afford the staff chance to make sure the final roster that is named for the season is the best roster possible,” Gallimore said.

The registration cost for each player is $50. All players must register online at SoundersWomen.com and will not be allowed to participate unless they have registered and pre-paid.

Registration: All players wishing to attend tryouts must fill out the application forms at SoundersWomen.com. Applications must be submitted online and payment processed. Absolutely no applications will be accepted via phone or fax. All registrants will receive email confirmation.
