The season came down to the very last matches in the PASL NW, and after Saturday night’s results we have our four playoff teams.
The Wenatchee Fire beat the Arlington Aviators 11:6 (photos) to claim a playoff spot. The WSA Rapids tied 6:6 in Snohomish (photos, summary) to take the other remaining berth. The South Sound Shock rallied to finish undefeated with an 8:5 win at Marysville (recap). In Tumwater the Pioneers won their first league match 9:7 over Oregon (match recap).

“Due to a lack of available players, the Pioneers will not send a team to Wenatchee on Sunday for the season finale instead opting to take a forfeit. The game was originally scheduled to be played last Saturday but a scheduling conflict at the Wenatchee Valley Sportsplex forced the game to be rescheduled.” —Pioneers
The final standings order was also confirmed after the Tumwater Pioneers announced they would be forfeiting Sunday’s scheduled trip to Wenatchee in an already re-scheduled match. The points go to the Fire and that pushes them up to third place for the season. The news means that the playoff’s first round will feature WSA Rapids at South Sound Shock on Friday February 15th. The Wenatchee Fire will travel the same night to Bremerton to play the Kitsap Pumas in the other playoff opener. The winners will play at the home of the highest remaining seed on Sunday the 17th for the right to go the the national playoffs.
We’ve been told that Tumwater will forfeit their match tomorrow at Wenatchee (can’t make the trip), so the PASL NW playoffs will feature Kitsap v. Wenatchee and South Sound v. WSA this coming Friday. The Fire finish 3rd with those points.
