The Kitsap Pumas and the Wenatchee Fire will meet in the first round of the PASL NW Division playoffs on Friday night February 15 at the Olympic Soccer and Sports Center in Bremerton. On the audio play-by-play call for goalWA.net will be longtime Fire media personality Landyn Rookard. It will be the first-ever live broadcast from the state soccer news website.

“We are excited to host a PASL NW playoff match,” Says David Falk, editor of http://www.goalWA.net. “It’s been a great regular season and we have enjoyed giving the local league unprecedented coverage with photos, match recaps, features and updated standings. This is a nice way to cap it off.”

The audio-only (radio) match broadcast will begin at 8:00 PM PST at http://www.goalwa.wordpress.com/live using US Stream technology.

Rookard has called many Fire matches and done outdoor matches for Pacific Lutheran University. You can view some of his previous work here.

Rookard has worked as Media Relations Director for Wenatchee Fire FC, as an intern reporter for KOZI Radio Chelan, and as Sports Information Assistant for Pacific Lutheran University.

The Kitsap Pumas finished second in the PASL NW during the regular season with 19 points and a record of 6-1-1. The Wenatchee Fire finished third with 15 points on a 5-3-0 record. The clubs have not yet met this season. The Fire are winless in two trips to Bremerton over the years.

The Fire are one of the hottest clubs going right now. After starting the season 0-2 the Apple City outfit have won five of six matches.

L.o.l. I see where Kitsap Kid was implying. ^_^

Indeed a great way to cap off a wonderfully competitive indoor season. Kudos to goalWA for a grass root effort of PASL NW coverage this winter.

Dave – you’ve done an outstanding job bringing news and information of the sport you love to the fans. Your efforts have directly resulted in the expansion of the PASL Northwest Division with the edition of 2 new clubs in each the 2 previous seasons in the Puget Sound region.

Thanks Landyn for bringing this audiocast to your fellow Fire fans in Wenatchee and to the Puma fans who are not going to the match. I’ll be at the match making alot of noise!

Glad to hear! Hope to have a good contingent of both Fire and Puma fans. I’ve done the neutral site gig before–and calling for the Lutes I always know that the away fans are making up a good base of the listeners.

My loyalties, as they always have, lie with good soccer. Hopefully this match will live up to that expectation!
