Kitsap Pumas roster expands to 13, including Canadian futsal player Robbie Tice

Pumasx200BREMERTON, WA.— The Kitsap Pumas are quietly adding players to their 2013 PDL roster as the club prepares to play a pre-season friendly this Saturday April 6 at Gordon Field in Silverdale at 7 PM against the Peninsula College Pirates.

It’s not expected that very many of the newly rostered players will be in town this weekend. The club has not yet announced some of these players as signed, but their appearance on the league website indicates their contracts have passed USL inspection.

Added in recent days are George Bundy (via tryouts), Alex Chavez, Edgar Gomez, Anthony Halterman, Brandon Scott, Will Daniels and Robbie Tice.

Bundy is a midfielder out of Evergreen State University who caught fan attention at recent tryouts. Chavez is a big forward from LA. Gomez is a Mexican-born footballer that has been playing recently for Eugene Metro in the OPSL. Halterman is a goalkeeper, another from the Infosport combines. Scott is a Tacoma guy who attended St. Martin’s in Lacey. Daniels (previously mentioned on goalWA) is another Infosport big forward. Tice is a Canadian futsal player with plenty of outdoor experience in midfield.

Robbie Tice is known to Canadian soccer fans as a futsal player, soccer adventurer and also a blogger.

Tice writes about his Canadian National Team Futsal experiences: There are so many differences from outdoor soccer to Futsal. Player rotation and set plays are key to success in the indoor game. After a few days of training together, we had our first game together as a team, an International Friendly against Costa Rica; one of the top teams in CONCACAF. It was a great first test for us and we did very well. We lost the game 2-1, but were still happy, as there were many positives to take from the game. The following day, we played Costa Rica again and played a very good first half. Unfortunately the game finished with a 4-0 loss for us, but we knew what we needed to work on going forward.

Social media savvy Tice has his own Twitter page as well as a personal soccer blog. The White Rock BC native recently tweeted: It’s going to be a good spring/summer #excited.

Tice has most-recently been with second-division Norwegian side Nesodden IF.

  1. As the parent of a Division 1 soccer player who played with Kitsap Soccer player Hellah Sidibie people should know that after he left college without graduating in Dec. 2012 he left two of his roommates with a $4400.00 bill for his portion of the rent. He has chosen to ignore every phone call, e-mail, text by his former teammates/roommates as well as the leasing agent for the apartment he rented. I s the the kind of player Kitsap wants representing them?.
