EDMONDS, WA. — (SeaWolves release) A year ago, the North Sound SeaWolves FC was one of a handful of Premier Development League teams that offered a live blog of their matches. In 2013, the team has taken it to another level.
The Edmonds-based SeaWolves will be one of just a few PDL teams that will offer a live videostream all of their home games online to anyone with a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone. The team is partnering with the My Neighborhood News network – publisher of My Edmonds News, Lynnwood Today and MLT News – to present all seven home games live.
The SeaWolves Live Broadcast Network, presented by Brien Ford, will debut with the club’s season-opener on Saturday, May 18 at Edmonds Stadium against the Portland Timbers U-23 team. The pre-game show begins at about 12:45 p.m. with kickoff set for 1 p.m. Fans can access the broadcast by going to www.uslNation.comand clicking on the “PDL” tab, then finding the SeaWolves match, or by visiting www.seawolvesfc.com and by visiting the My Neighborhood News sites. Every game will also be archived on the league site for later viewing.
“This is such an exciting step for the team,” SeaWolves owner Alex Silva said. “To be able to let fans see our games anywhere in the world is going to be such a great thing. It’s also going to be a great recruiting tool for us, and to be one of the only teams in the league to offer this, it’s a big step for this club.”
Play-by-play duties for the games will be shared by veteran broadcasters Nathan Murphy and Keith Nealey. Both handled play-by-play for live audio broadcasts of Edmonds-Woodway High School sporting events and they’ll be joined each game by guest color commentators.
“We reached a lot of fans last year with our live blog,” SeaWolves General Manager Jim Underhill said. “But having a live video broadcast where fans can watch the game from anywhere is a huge step. We’re thankful to all those involved who helped put this together. It’s going to be a really exciting thing for our fans and our players.”
The SeaWolves are a member of the Northwest Division of the Premier Development League, the highest level of amateur soccer in the United States. The team plays its home games at Edmonds Stadium between May and July.
