The PDL NW Division playoff structure has changed almost every year in recent memory. This year the clubs voted to go with a top three, with the number one season finisher going directly to the Western Conference playoffs and the second and third place sides playing a single match to decide who joins them.

Despite some pretty lackluster results for most of Washington’s clubs, they remain hopeful a late-season hot streak will lift them into a top three spot. The most-likely to get into the playoffs from our state are the Sounders U-23’s. See the current division table below and what is going on down south in the other Western Conference division. Beneath that we’ve posted the remaining schedules for all clubs and our notes on those schedules.

Schedule Notes: None of the Washington clubs are in very strong positions. The Sounders U-23 would get to 28 points by winning out, but they have four of five away including trips to Kitsap and Portland. The Kitsap Pumas have the fewest points left to earn, and winning out would put them at just 20. They would need total collapses from Vancouver and the Sounders, and losses along the way for Washington and North Sound. The Pumas do have three straight at home after an away match Friday in Edmonds. Washington Crossfire is home for three but also away at both division title contenders. North Sound has four of five at home. Portland and Victoria play each other twice, which should decide the top spot. Vancouver plays the contenders next, and have three of four at home.
