People behind the EPLWA: Jim Massoni, BUFC

Jim Head Shot - 300

Jim Massoni.

Jim Massoni has seen first-hand how a local FC can turn a community on. He’s having that experience right now in his volunteer role with Bellingham United FC. Now he’s on board to help the rest of Washington do the same with the founding of the Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA). Jim’s working title is “Director of League Operations.”

The new league recently starting taking club applications for the 2014 season (link).

“Creating community awareness and fan involvement is essential in providing an energetic and connected game experience. The most fulfilling aspect of my position with BUFC has been developing and managing events that create an exciting atmosphere for the public. I hope to help spread what we have done in Bellingham throughout the entire state of Washington.”

EPL v3-06--600Massoni gained his experience through the ground work that he helped lay with Bellingham United FC. As BUFC’s Business Operations Manager, Jim and the General Manager organize and run all aspects of game day operations to include ticketing, merchandise, concessions, and crowed involvement. He also organizes events within the community to help promote and connect soccer culture to local businesses and fans. Jim has also gained a lot of his management experience from being in the Marine Corps, Military Contracting, and working in the Public Sector. Jim is currently a senior at Western Washington University and will be graduating with a degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Minor.
