Fuerza FC applies to bring Brazilian flair to EPLWA

fuerzaMarysville, Washington club Fuerza FC (http://www.fuerzafc.com/) have become the tenth applicant to the new Evergreen Premier League. goalWA.net recently featured a travel journal from Fuerza FC Director of Education Tony Carillo as he went to Brazil to earn the top BFUT license.

On their application Fuerza FC (Facebook) expressed a desire to give opportunities for their post-high school players:

“This league can help our players continue playing futebol after college or their high school career. Also with our ties to our pro club in Brazil this will allow us to bring players that can make soccer more popular in our community.”

It’s the second application by a group from Snohomish County. Earlier Everett United applied to join the semi-pro men’s adult league.

On Monday August 5 at 7 PM the league will hold its first-ever conference call for prospective club operators.

Don’t make the mistake of letting ethnic-based clubs into your league, that’s the past and part of the failure of soccer to advance over the past 50 years. The PCSL does this, which is part of what makes them Mickey Mouse league. Accept clubs that are inclusive, and represent their entire communities, not one ethnic group within it. The only ethnicity in any club in your league should be “American”.
