KIRKLAND - After flirting with scoring their first goal of the season the entire first half, the Whitman men’s soccer team had no answer for Northwest University’s defense in the second half, falling to the Eagles 3-0 in Kirkland, WA., this afternoon — the Whits third straight road game to begin the young season.
SPOKANE - The Rocky Mountain College women’s soccer team used a goal from Sydney Galletti in the 83rd minute to defeat Northwest University 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Cascade/Frontier Red Lion Challenge being played at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex.
TACOMA - Scoring came from everywhere and the Puget Sound women’s soccer team controlled the pace for the entire 90 minutes of a 5-0 win over visiting Warner Pacific. Playing in their only home match of the month, the Loggers (2-1) gave the home crowd quite a show with four different players scoring and the defense stifling any attempt at an attack.
SAN DIEGO – Already adept at assisting on goals, Alexa Diaz made good on a chance to score one herself on Saturday. For the second straight game to start the season, Diaz set up Laura Moore for an early strike, then added a late goal of her own – the first of her career – as the No. 21-ranked Seattle Pacific women got into the 2013 win column with a 3-0 non-conference decision at Point Loma Nazarene.
SEATTLE – Justin Walmsley scored on a header in a crowded goalmouth Saturday, lifting Chico State to a 1-0 win over Seattle Pacific in an NCAA men’s soccer game at Interbay Stadium.
LOS ANGELES — With the game destined for a 1-1 tie, Occidental freshman forward Julie Khil scored a goal with 1:19 left in double overtime to give the women’s soccer team a 2-1 win over Pacific Lutheran in its home opener at Lower Field on Saturday.
PORTLAND —Exploding for four second-half goals, the No. 5-ranked Concordia women’s soccer team dismantled Whitworth University 6-0 in a battle of previously unbeaten teams on Saturday afternoon.
TYLER - Sam Selisch scored twice for the Pirates but they surrendered a 90th minute goal in an eventual 2:2 draw in Texas.
SAN DIEGO - Jessica Bertucci’s goal in the 89th minute gave Western Washington the win in California.
PORT ANGELES - The PCC Pirates got two goals from Alex Martinez in an exhibition rout of the Victoria Highlanders Reserves.
SPOKANE - Devin Leon scored his second goal of the match in the 81st minute as Spokane drew even with Clark College.
LONGVIEW - Allie Quy and Carly Cooper scored to lead the Gators over the Red Devils.
PUYALLUP - The Dolphins blew past the Raiders as Allison Shelton scored a hat trick.
