MARYSVILLE, WA — Premier Arena Soccer League Commissioner Kevin Milliken tells goalWA.net today that he has denied the application by the Marysville Ruckus to continue on in 2013-14 in the indoor soccer league.
“ I did not invite Marysville back. There was a lot of drama surrounding their team last season,” Milliken said.
The Premier Arena Soccer League is an amateur men’s adult competition with a growing fanbase in Washington and Oregon.
goalWA.net orginally posted a PASL preview that contained information from another league team that eleven clubs would participate in two divisions this winter. Marysville and the Tumwater Pioneers were not listed as returning according to that news. There was confusion because someone in the Ruckus community posted online that they had indeed applied for the new season. They did, but the league is denying that application.
‘The decision is final. I made it a while ago,” Milliken says. “Then when I started organizing the division this season, it became clear that most of the teams, arenas, and officials agreed (with not including the Ruckus.)”
The decision will come as unwelcome late news for the Ruckus, who have already held open practices and training sessions in preparation for the upcoming season.
goalWA.net has requested a statement from the Ruckus.
