Pumas indoor pre-season
The Kitsap Pumas announced that they will hold two exhibition matches before the start of the indoor soccer season Nov. 23.
They will play Olympic Soccer on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., then host the South Sound Shock in a rematch of last year’s PASL Premier Northwest Division championship match Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices will be the same for the regular season matches: $9 with kids ages 5 to 15 years old getting in for just $5. Active military get in for $5 with ID as well.
Coach James Ritchie said the indoor team is pretty much set. There may be a few trialists that play in the two exhibition games.
“It will be good to see local young talent out there and how they’ve progressed,” Ritchie said. “There are some players we’re interested in as well.”
“It’s going to be fun to play them,” he said of the Shock, who beat the Pumas 7-4 in the title bout and made the national semifinals. “They put out a great team and we’re excited to play them.”
With the Shock moving into a different division this season, Ritchie hopes they can get a match at their field before the season is out.
“It will be a very tough challenge for the boys,” he said.
Tickets can be bought at the Pumas’ front office or at the OSSC on matchday.
