ISSAQUAH, WA — Following their partnership with the Issaquah Soccer Club, the North Sound SeaWolves FC are proud to announce that the club has rebranded, and will play in the 2014 PDL season as the Puget Sound Gunners FC.

“We have affiliated with one of the biggest youth organizations in the northwest region, Issaquah Soccer Club,” said President and Owner Alex Silva. “My goal is to get all our youth families involved and fill out the stadium on gamedays. Instead of just North Sound, now we’ll represent the entire Puget Sound area, and I look forward for one of the best years in the organization’s history.”

The Gunners are also pleased to announce open tryouts for the new season, which will be held on February 8th and 9th from 6-8 p.m. All players looking to join the Puget Sound Gunners FC can register online to test their skills in front of the club’s coaches and staff.

Tryouts will be held at Central Park, 1907 NE Park Drive, Issaquah, Wash. 98029. All pre-registered players will participate in tryouts on Saturday, February 8th. The top players from Saturday’s sessions will be asked to return for the tryouts on Sunday, February 9th.

“Many players now playing in Major League Soccer played in the PDL during and after their college eligibility,” said Gunners head coach Jimmy Ball. “This is an exciting opportunity for good college players who desire to play at higher levels.”

A further weekend of tryouts is scheduled for March 8th and 9th from 6-8 p.m. for those that cannot attend the February dates. Tryouts are open to male soccer players, ages 18 years and older.

“When I was a coach for the New England Revolution in MLS, I spent many hours watching PDL games and tracking the performance of PDL players,” said Gunners Executive Director Gwynne Williams. “Both Brad Knighton and Bobby Shuttleworth who are now goalkeepers at New England were discovered playing in the PDL.”

The registration cost for each player is $35. All players must register online. Players will not be allowed to participate unless they have registered and pre-paid.
