The STATE of Soccer in WASHINGTON
SILVERDALE, WA — The WestSound FC Men of the Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA) announce today that Silverdale Stadium will host their seven home regular season matches in 2014. The season schedule will be released soon with a target kick-off tentatively slated for the last weekend in April.
Silverdale Stadium has a capacity of 2,500 and features a large covered stand on one side of the pitch. The playing surface is AstroPlay, installed in 2008. There is a covered concessions area beneath the cement and bleachers grandstand.
The choice makes sense for the WestSound Men as the venue is already the home of the WestSound youth soccer club.
“We have a great working relationship with the Central Kitsap School District and the stadium operators because of our extensive use of the facility for youth matches,” says WestSound FC Director of Coaching George Vukic. “For us this is already home. Having the new Men’s team play here makes sense for our community and should provide for exciting match days.”
The WestSound FC Men will be making a series of announcements in the coming weeks, including open tryout dates, naming the first-ever coaching staff and revealing the first Men’s team General Manager.
WestSound FC was welcomed into the Evergreen Premier League on August 14, 2013. The WestSound FC Men formed and played an exhibition schedule in the summer of 2013. The club will represent the area with local talent featuring players from colleges, coaches from the youth club, the best of the Kitsap Adult Soccer League (KASL) and more.
