Video Buzz: Embedded with Seattle Stars FC

BREMERTON, WA — Seattle Stars FC of the Evergreen Premier League crossed the big pond on Wednesday night to face the Kitsap Pumas of the Premier Development League in a pre-season match. It was an unadvertised, non-ticketed affair, but Pumas fans still showed up in good numbers. They were happy with what they saw as Kitsap took a 3-0 win.

As part of goalWA.net’s partnership with the EPLWA, we took some feature video of the Stars before the match and along the sidelines to capture the ‘feel’ of the night. Seattle wore brand new black kits with white accents and bright green side panels. They posed for a team photo, and then were thoroughly dominated in a first half that saw numerous Kitsap chances, but just a 1-0 lead at the break.

In the second half the Stars created a few chances of their own, but the Pumas were great on the counter-attack and punched home two more strikes for the 3-0 final.

Both clubs can learn from the scrimmage. The Stars need to work on connecting passes in the midfield and not getting caught out on the break. The Pumas would surely like to hone their finishing skills in front of goal.

In the end it was handshakes and well-wishes as both sides continue to prepare for their seasons.

Seattle Stars FC head coach Alex Kajumulo will have to rely on his assistants and a bit of match film to critique his side. He texted just before kick-off that he had missed the boat to Bremerton.
