The Scottish center back just touched down in Washington and trained with his new teammates for the first time yesterday.
MacDonald brings a wealth of experience to the Pumas back line. Whilst in Scotland MacDonald played most of his career with Livingston FC. MacDonald has played for Livingston FC’s U15, U17, U19, Reserve and First Team. During his time in the U19s he was part of a side that won three Scottish Football League U19 Championships, 2 Scottish Football League U19 League Cups and were twice runners-up in Scottish Football League Reserve Cups.
He made his debut at the young age of 17 as a substitute against Hibs in a pre-season friendly on July 18, 2007. His competitive debut came on January 5, 2008 in a Scottish First Division clash with Greenock Morton at Almondvale Stadium. Livingston won 6–1 and MacDonald was awarded Man of the Match. At the end of season 2009–10 MacDonald was awarded both the Livingston FC Player of the Year and supporters club Livi Lions Player of the Year award.
After Livingston, MacDonald had a spell at Airdrie. Before joining the Pumas MacDonald played his last match in Scotland alongside former Puma David Gray as a guest for Montrose FC. The two combined to shut out Rangers in an 0-0 game in front of 4,686 fans.
Fellow Scott and Kitsap Head Coach James Ritchie is delighted by the signing. “Cammy is a great player and a massive addition to the club. He has won a number of awards in Scotland and we are looking forward to having him playing in the Hoops this year.”
