Picture Perfect: Pumas and Huskies battle to draw in West Sound

Pumas vs UW 326

BREMERTON, WA –— The professional Kitsap Pumas took a 2:0 lead into halftime on Saturday April 20th at Gordon Field but then saw Washington play the better second half in an eventual 2:2 draw. The Huskies fought all the way back in the last minute of the match when a long, floating shot was destined for the far corner of the Kitsap goal. It nestled just beyond the reach of Pumas goalkeeper Dustyn Brim to even the match seconds before the ref’s last whistle.

It was a chippy match for spring ball. The teams were separated several times by the ref and yellow cards were dished out to both sides.

The Pumas are gearing up for their fifth PDL season which starts for them on May 4 when they travel to Victoria BC to face the Highlanders. The Huskies are in their spring season as they seek to improve for the fall Pac-12 season.

Jeff Halstead and David Falk both shot photos of the match. You can see a few here and all of them at the galleries which are linked below.
