KENNEWICK, WA — goalWA.net is pleased to share some photos from a new contributor, John Sokol. He shoots photos in the Tri-Cities and has followed the season of the Kennewick High School Lions boys soccer team.
What a time for John to share! The Lions are the talk of the town, having recently beat Hanford 1:0 to win the Mid-Columbia Conference for the first time in school history. The Lions are 9-3 in league.
Further, the Lions are featured in this news video that talks about their successes this year.
“A lot of these kids have to work to help out family. To a certain extent it affects their studies because they’re torn, not only trying to be a full time student and a student athlete, but also trying to work to help out the family and sometimes the studies struggle as well,” said Brian Grochoel, Kennewick soccer head coach, in the video.
The Lions are currently ranked #11 in the most-recent ScoreCzar 3A Top 20.
