Youth Director

Shawn Alire has been hired as the new Harbor Soccer Club Youth Director. Shawn holds his USSF A License and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our youngest ages. In addition to coaching his Premier teams, Shawn will focus on the development of all players and teams in the U11 and below age groups. His responsibilities include curriculum and lesson plan design and implementation, overseeing training sessions of all teams below U11, and regular communication with parents regarding club goals. He will also provide the vision, planning, and execution of Youth Training through camps, jamborees, and special events for the younger ages. Shawn will also work to bridge the gap between the Harbor Recreational Soccer program and Harbor Premier by assisting in the education and on-field training of recreational program coaches. Shawn’s playing career has spanned over 20 years beginning with youth ODP state teams, regional teams, national teams and collegiately he played at Santa Clara University. While at Santa Clara University he won a Division 1 National Championship and a World Championship. Shawn has been coaching youth soccer for over 20 years and is a perfect fit to strengthen our club in these important ages of growth.

Harbor Soccer’s renewed commitment to these younger age groups is already becoming evident as Harbor Premier G01 and B03 teams have earned promotion to Division 1, and the G03 team finished in first place of Division 1for both the fall 2013 sand spring 2014 season. These two new positions are paramount in continuing this development of younger, skilled players. Harbor Soccer Club and Harbor Premier are very excited to have both Jason and Shawn join us in these expanded roles and take this commitment even further. Both will continue to coach their current teams as well as take on these responsibilities. We look forward to even greater growth and development for our players and for our club as these positions unfold.
