SEATTLE, WA—Futsal is a fast indoor game calling on footwork and coordination to compete. Gabriel Rapier knows how popular the sport is in other places around the world, and he’s been a dedicated advocate of giving players in greater Puget Sound their chance to learn the sport.
“Our organization Puget Sound Futsal is currently involved in numerous afterschool Futsal enrichment programs instructing futsal basics. Seattle elementary schools include Leschi, Bailey Gazert, Hawthorne, Beacon Hill and Thurgood Marshal,” he tells goalWA.net.
“I personally work for the city of Seattle Parks and Recreation as a Gym Supervisor. Every Saturday night 7-12pm I supervise/instruct teens playing 5 on 5 coed futsal. Admission is free.”
“PSF’s tight knit group of 25 futsal players have gathered regularly every Sunday to compete in pick-up futsal games for the past four years. Playing at various indoor/outdoor locations, matches usually last from 4 PM until sundown.”
