BREMERTON, WA — Miguel Gonzalez spent some pre-season training time with Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer. The college scoring star has settled in with the PDL, and that is great news for the Kitsap Pumas. Gonzalez has reunited with his junior college coach Andrew Chapman (Peninsula Pirates), and the results look promising after Miguel scored twice in the second half of the Kitsap – Bellingham United pre-season friendly on Saturday night. Chuy Sanchez also scored two for the Pumas, who romped 6-1. Jeff Halstead shot the match and shares a gallery of photos at Facebook.com/goalwa.
Bellingham United got a lone goal from striker Carlos Betancourt, who comes over to BUFC after playing previously with Seattle Stars FC. The Hammers used a number of reserves in the match as they await the arrival of their college stars May 1.
