Pumas hire MacDonald as new head coach

macdonaldBREMERTON, WA— (club release) The Kitsap Pumas have named Cameron MacDonald as their new head coach.

“We interviewed a number of candidates and “Cammy” was clearly the top choice”, said owner Robin Waite. “His background of winning titles at Livinston FC and Aidrieonians in Scotland makes him the ideal man to take the club forward with both the first team as well as overseeing the growing youth program.”

As a coach and a player in the Livingston program MacDonald has had a hand in developing some of the top prospects in Scottish soccer.

He had a strong influence on this years Puma’s team that finished in the PDL Championship final.

He played for the Pumas in 2013 and moved into a coaching role this past year as the first assistant to head coach Andrew Chapman.

New coach MacDonald can’t wait to get started:

“I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to manage such a strong club. I’m excited and can’t wait to et going on this terrific project, going forward both on and off the field.”

Working with MacDonald will be fellow Scotsman Shaun Scobie who joins the Pumas after heading up the academy program at Livingston FC and at the West Lothian branch of Coerver Coaching.
