BELLINGHAM, WA— goalWA.net is honoring the leading scorer of the Evergreen Premier League’s 2014 season with a $100 gift certificate and a silver platter. Tyler Bjork of Bellingham United Football Club scored 13 goals (over 14 matches) in the debut season of the statewide league to take the title of “goalWA.net goalKING.”
Bjork did much of his work in a single match when he astounded the league by scoring six goals in the first half of an eventual 8-2 win for the Hammers. It was one of those matches where soccer stands still in time and supporters are left to watch with mouths dropped open.
“It was pretty surreal playing in that game… Once I scored my third goal I just wanted to push myself further and see how many goals I could tally up,” Bjork told the Hammers website. “It was relaxing and to say the least, I was having fun out there. The game becomes easier with feelings like that and I didn’t want to lose them.”
Bjork will be presented the silver platter at a future time by his club. He’s already enjoying the gift certificate, which he chose to redeem via Soccer West.

Tyler took a year off from soccer before jumping back on the pitch as the Hammers jumped from the Pacific Coast Soccer League to the EPLWA. “Honestly, taking a year off was the best thing that happened soccer-wise,” he says.
“I got a lot of much needed rest after years of knee injuries. I found my love for the game again; I truly missed playing and being part of a team. Not only that, but as I began playing again I really started enjoying my life as a whole.”
