ARLINGTON, WA— The Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) experienced a “first” last Friday as the Arlington Aviators played a scrimmage match against talented local high school players at Soccer First Indoor Sports.
“There’s a reason why some of these high school players are moving on to D1 and D2 college,” said a post on the Aviators Facebook page. Arlington ended up on top in the scrimmage, 3-1.
“These guys gave the fans a great performance…Thanks everyone who came out and cheered them on!” read a post on the Soccer First Facebook page.
The Aviators are entering their third season as an indoor soccer club. Last year they went 6-2-2. This season they are helping start the WISL for the top indoor clubs in the state of Washington.
“We have been training hard for over a month and are excited to show a big improvement from last year,” says Arlington player Andrew Escalante.
The match served as a fund raiser for Aviators programs. Fans paid $5 admission and the Soccer First snack bar was open, serving hot dogs, pretzels, nachos and other treats.
