The Tacoma Stars will host Seattle Impact FC of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) on Saturday night October 25 at 7:30 PM in the Tacoma Soccer Center. There will be quite a few familiar faces on the Seattle side of the ball who once played for the Stars.
Jeff Bader, Eli Gordley, Micah Wenzel and Andrew Croft are among the Seattle Impact players who used to play for Tacoma.
Bader and Gordley came to the Impact via a trade with the Ontario Fury. Jeff is a Stadium High graduate and was born in Tacoma. He’s previously played for the Stars over a series of seasons. Eli has played for the Stars and for the Kitsap Pumas. He’s a Seattle native.
Micah Wenzel plays his outdoor ball with South Sound FC, where he’s the team captain. He’s also been a mainstay on the Stars. Wenzel is a Bellarmine Prep grad who was born in Federal Way.
Goalkeeper Andrew Croft played last year for the Tacoma Galaxy of the PASL. The Kenmore native (Inglemoor High) played college ball in Parkland at Pacific Lutheran University. He’s appeared in goal for the Stars in PASL play.
The Stars held their open tryouts on Sunday and have been practicing for a few weeks with a base of returning and invited players.
This will be a great chance to check out the Impact before they debut in their first season and also to watch the first public appearance and return of the Tacoma Stars before they begin play in the Western Indoor Soccer League! It’s Seattle v. Tacoma and it’s fast action and fun. Tickets are available online right now by going to www.TacomaStars.com and clicking on “Tickets.” Adults – $10, Seniors – $5, Youth ages 5 to 12- $5, Under 5 – Free.
