TACOMA, WA — (TacomaStars.com) The Tacoma Stars channeled the Force on Saturday night, finding their way through a tough battle and an eventual 7-3 victory over Olympic of the PASL at the Tacoma Soccer Center.

This time the score came from the foot of Joey Gjertsen who launched a sharp shot from the top of the penalty arc.
The Force got back in it at 12 minutes in the second quarter, 2-1. Tacoma responded with two goals, including a mid-range line drive from Cam Vickers that found the inside of the far post. It was 4-1 Stars at the half.
The closest the Force would get the rest of the way was down by two goals, and they made it 4-2 in the third. Chris Raymond came through for Tacoma, pushing the advantage with a goal to make in 5-2. Then Gjertsen got another one to extend the Stars advantage to 6-2 going into the fourth quarter.
The Fourth quarter was a standoff. There was some banging around and even a tussle between the teams. Derek Johnson made no doubt that the Stars would win when he put them up 7-2 with a goal near the end. Olympic answered back with less than a minute to go, but could only make the final 7-3.
