The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is trying to gain a larger presence in the Northwest. Only Portland Spartans are returning from the 2014 season which saw three clubs drop out afterwards. Joining Portland for the 2015 season is FCT 253 in Tacoma.

The NPSL is holding a combine with invited players from around the country. Two Portland Spartans are a part of the West Region: Roberto Farfan and Jordan Selland.

PDL fans will remember Farfan from playing with the Portland Timbers U-23’s. He’s also seen local indoor soccer action. Farfan is a creative midfielder.

Selland hails from Spokane, where he played for the NWAC Spokane Falls CC soccer team and earned All Star status.. Selland attended East Valley High School in Spokane and after playing at SFCC he eventually ended up at Warner Pacific.
