Tacoma, WA—The Tacoma Stars are on the verge of playing their second consecutive weekend with a doubleheader since the team debuted in the MASL last Friday night. Tacoma is still perfect in WISL play this season with a 6-0-0 record while the team will be aiming to pick up its first MASL win against the Las Vegas Legends.

First, the Stars will face the third-place Wenatchee Fire this Saturday night at 7:30 PM inside of the Tacoma Soccer Center. Tickets to Saturday’s WISL match, which is “Wingman Brewers Scarf Night,” are available online here. The following day, in the late afternoon, Tacoma will travel back up to Kent’s ShoWare Center to face off against the Las Vegas Legends at 4:00 PT in hopes of winning their first MASL match. Tickets to January 25th’s match against the Legends are available at tickets.showarecenter.com

The Stars have been dominating the WISL. Not only is the team undefeated through six games, but Tacoma has outscored their opponents 53-18 over those half a dozen games. However, the Stars fell to the Pacific division leading San Diego Sockers in their first ever MASL match, ultimately splitting last weekend’s matches

Stars midfielder/forward Duncan McCormick will be the first to admit that playing matches on back to back nights is no simple endeavor. “Playing back to back games is not easy,” McCormick admits. “We came across a very good San Diego team and that proved to be a difficult task.”

McCormick, who tallied a goal against San Diego last week, also knows what he and his teammates will have to do in order to be successful in winning both games this weekend. “Staying healthy is key to performing well,” McCormick explains. “The guys have to make sure that they eat well before and after games as well as resting their legs in between.”

Last weekend may have been bittersweet to some, but the Stars now have their attention set on the next task. “There’s no doubt that we have some big games coming this weekend,” McCormick stated. “I know everyone is excited to come out with two wins and I believe we are prepared to do so!”
