Kent, WA—Less than 24 hours after shutting out the Wenatchee Fire, the Stars had to quickly turn their attention to the Las Vegas Legends. The away side capitalized on Tacoma’s very short amount of turnaround time and have left Kent’s ShoWare Center as winners of a 13-3 game in front of just 1,050 fans ( a 19% increase over the previous home attendance.) Three different Las Vegas players scored multiple goals to help the Legends win and keep their playoff hopes alive.

It didn’t take long for the game’s scoring to open up, as the Stars drew first blood within the opening 90 seconds of the game. Nate Ford found Steve Mohn on a set piece chance to score the game’s opening goal and put Tacoma up 1-0. However, Las Vegas took over from there. Felipe Gonzalez and Hiram Ruiz assisted each other’s goals in the middle portion of the first quarter to turn the wave of momentum into Las Vegas’ favor. Christian Segura was able to add a goal of his own late in the first quarter to put Las Vegas up by a pair of goals by the end of the opening quarter of play.

Tacoma had a plethora of chances to score their second goal of the game, especially when a shot from Nate Ford hit the post and then bounced away. But Las Vegas’ defense stood strong, held the Stars scoreless throughout the quarter, and went into the halftime break being up 5-1.

The Legends certainly kept their foot on the gas pedal in the third quarter, as Las Vegas extended their lead from four goals to seven. Christian Segura was able to score a quick pair of goals in the first few minutes of the quarter to complete his hat trick, while Ricardinho and Jonathan Bravo each tallied a goal of their own. Mark Lee was able to finally score Tacoma’s second goal of the game, but the third quarter ended with Las Vegas seemingly in the driver’s seat to leave the ShoWare Center with their ninth win of the season.

Legends-Team-LogoTacoma was able to tack on another goal in the closing quarter thanks to Chris Raymond. But the Stars were unable to produce any more goals after that point, as Las Vegas were able to add on four more goals within the five closing minutes of the game and cement their ninth win of the season.

The Stars won’t have to wait long to potentially win their first MASL game, as the team will be traveling down to Las Vegas to face the Legends again this Friday night. The following night, Tacoma will be playing its return match  against San Diego inside of the Valley View Casino Center. Both games will kickoff at 7:00 PT on each respective night and will be streaming live on golivesportscast.com.
