TACOMA, WA— FCT 253, the club who will compete in the NPSL this year out of Tacoma, ends up coming to Seattle for their US Open Cup play-in match. On Sunday March 22 the team will play against a Southwest NPSL opponent at 2 PM at Memorial Stadium for the right to advance into the cup proper.
Let’s start from the beginning…. On February 20th, FCT 253 won against SFC Spartans thanks to goals by Vaughn and Jacobson. It was the first game of the tournament, as well as the first one in the history of this team. A great start for the new Italian-American Club that now wants to repeat the victory in the next match.
The second game of this tournament will be played on March, 22th at 2 pm at Memorial Stadium in Seattle. A great field for a great event. Memorial Stadium, was built in memory of the Seattle youth who gave their lives in World War II, and was formerly the home field for the Seattle Sounders FC and then the home field for Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL.
Meanwhile, the team continues to welcome Italian players to America as they build their roster. Oussama Essabr was greeted by the club upon his arrival this week at Sea-Tac.
