Kate Green named first head coach of Olympic Force Women

IMG_9811_ppBREMERTON, WA— The Olympic Force of the Women’s Premier Soccer league (WPSL) have named Kate Green as their first-ever head coach. “We are thrilled to have her and we are continuing the search for her assistants. In addition we will have tryout information posted later this week,” says a post on the club’s Facebook page.

Kate Green, a Kentwood High graduate, joined the Pacific Lutheran women’s soccer coaching staff prior to the 2013 fall season.

wpsl_logoGreen boasts coaching experience at both the club and intercollegiate level, including a previous stint at PLU as a women’s soccer assistant in 2004. She currently assists the Washington Premier team ECNL and is the head coach of the junior squad after serving as head coach of both the Puget Sound Slammers and Rainier Valley Slammers in recent years.

Along with her time at PLU, Green also assisted the women’s soccer program at her alma mater The Evergreen State College in 2009, where she twice earned all-conference honors as a player. Her playing career includes time with the Tacoma Stars semi-pro indoor team and the Seattle Hibernian Saints semi-pro outdoor team, along with Seattle University.
