Sounders Women cool the Blue Heat to improve to 5-0-0

TUKWILA, WA – (club release) On a balmy night at Starfire Sports Complex, the Sounders Women scored three goals to once again take three points from the Santa Clarita Blue Heat.

The Sounders Women took down the Blue Heat this past weekend in California then traveled to Arizona to take on the Strikers in a southwest road trip. The ladies in green took down both teams on the trip before coming home to win tonight and remain undefeated at 5-0-0.

Santa Clarita and the Sounders Women will meet again this Friday at Bonney Lake High School at 7:30pm as part of a two game swing for Santa Clarita.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 half time score before the Sounders Women came out with a new determination to start the second half. Two quick goals from Cali Farquarson and Rose Lavelle put the home team up 2-0. Brianna Hooks was credited with both assists.

Melissa Fernandez fought back to find a goal for Santa Clarita in the 78th minute but the Sounders Women answered the score with one of their own. Lavelle added her second of the night on a dish from Allie Jackstadt.
