Sounders Women host the Colorado Rush looking to remain perfect

sounderswomenThe Colorado Rush come to town this Sunday, June 28th to play the Sounders Women in a Western Conference battle between two teams vying for playoff seeding. The game is scheduled at Starfire Stadium at 7:30pm.  The Rush are currently 6-1-0 in league play while the Sounders Women lead the Western Conference with a 7-0-0 record.

Led by top scorers Danica Evans (7 goals) and Celeste Boureille (7 goals), the Colorado Rush is a top contender in the Western Conference this year.  Janine Beckie is also having a good year for the Rush with 5 goals and 3 assists.  The Rush lost earlier this season to the Colorado Pride in a local match that included the two teams, along with the Sounders Women, that will fight it out in the next two weeks for the two spots into the W-League playoffs.

The Sounders Women have been on a mission this year giving zero points away through 7 games and having multiple players contribute to the cause.  Cali Farquarson has been unstoppable registering 5 goals and 4 assists so far and Rose Lavelle and Ashley Clark have hammered home 4 goals apiece.  Janelle Flaws has also been a welcome addition to the team with 3 goals and 3 assists in her contribution to the attack.  Stellar performances in goal from Emily Boyd and Kathryn Scheele have kept the opposition off the board and the Sounders Women have rewarded the goalkeepers with wins on the campaign.
