(club release) The Sounders U23 plays the Puget Sound Gunners in the first of two remaining league season games this Saturday, July 11th at Issaquah high school at 7:30pm. The Sounders U23 wrap up the regular season the following Wednesday at the 2015 NW Division Champions, Kitsap Pumas. The Sounders U23 currently sit in 3rd place, three points behind the Portland Timbers U23 with the only remaining item being playoff seeding and home field advantage for the play in game in the NW Division of the PDL.

If the Sounders U23 earn a win and at least a tie in the final two regular season games, they will host the playoff game versus the Portland Timbers. Any loss in the final two games would give Portland the play in game venue.

The Sounders U23 lost twice in a week to the Portland Timbers in games where the Sounders U23 outshot the Timbers U23 but did not finish the looks at goal. The Men in Green then rattled off two wins in five days against Calgary and Crossfire to clinch a playoff spot. The Timbers U23 finished their regular season with a tie last night versus the undefeated Kitsap Pumas to end with 22 points total in the regular season. Much like the Sounders U23, the Timbers U23 operate as an amateur team in the PDL developing the home grown players and players across the country who may make their way into the respective MLS affiliate programs. The Kitsap Pumas operate as the only professional team in the 63 team PDL.

The Puget Sound Gunners will finish their season this Saturday and currently sit in the 7th spot behind Crossfire with an 0-6-5 record. Charles Pitts has lead the Gunners this season with 4 goals on the campaign.

Come watch the young guns as they prepare for playoffs this Saturday at Issaquah high school. Kick-off is 7:30pm.
