The Tacoma Stars of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) are getting ready for their first full season of professional action indoors this fall and winter. The Stars will feature their Reserves in Western Indoor Soccer League play but before then they are working in cooperation with the WISL to scout local talent.

There will be a WISL All Star game (invitational for players) to play with trialists from the Tacoma Stars Open Trial (Aug 14-15) against Tacoma Stars players as an opportunity to showcase their talents and be honored for their top level play in the WISL over the last season. The game will kick off at 4 pm August 16th.

“Tacoma Stars head coach and GM Darren Sawatzky has been reaching out to gather players for this event,” says WISL Commissioner John Crouch. “The Stars will host the game at the Tacoma Soccer Center as the third day of player trials. We will running this game in uniforms with a full referee squad and will invite spectators to join us for a great afternoon of soccer!”

Sawatzky and the Stars will work together with the WISL to create a talent network for indoor soccer players in the Northwest. “This past season was a great experience and I wish everyone the best of luck in the coming WISL season,” Sawatzky says. “We look forward to helping build the league and working to integrate indoor soccer at all levels.”

Stay tuned for details on the WISL for the upcoming season as we finalize our teams and look to write schedules, etc. This is going to be a great year number two of this owner-operated league!
