Trinity Lutheran drops 1-0 contest to Douglas College

Trinity Womens soccerEVERETT, WA— (submission to The Trinity Lutheran College Eagles (Trinity) took on the Douglas College Royals (Douglas) of the Pacific Western Athletic Association in a pre-season, interleague match on August 20th, at Lincoln Field in downtown Everett, Washington.

Trinity who played without five of their starters, held Douglas to a scoreless first half. The play of Trinity’s Goalkeeper tandem of Elise Wagner and Jordan Norris anchored the back defensive line as they made nine saves on 10 shots on goal. However, the matches’ loan goal game from Douglas’s Kristina Klein in the second half.

“It was a good first outing, and due to the abscesses of some our players, the younger and inexperienced players had to step up and play a full game, which they did well.” said Trinity Coach Tim Colvin.

Trinity’s next matches are away against California’s Mills College on August 28th and Bethesda University (Anaheim, California) on August 29th.
