Welcome to a new feature on goalWA.net called “Social Buzz” where we will highlight soccer topics that are trending in social media in the state of Washington!
BUZZ: The Tacoma Stars are rolling out clues and teasers about their first full professional season since 1992. On the club’s Facebook page they are asking fans what they think of possible designs for new uniforms and new scarves. They are also posting clues about their next player signing announcement. Fans are jumping in on the social media work by the Stars with over 200 likes and scores of comments. So far it looks like a mixed result for the kits that feature Tacoma topography and a sure win for the scarves. That player to be announced? The hint was a geoduck, and that made it easy to guess. The Satellites, the supporters group for the Tacoma Stars, had their own big reveal recently. Just look at those shoes.
FOLLOW-UP: The Tacoma Stars will host their Major Arena Soccer League home opener on November 6 at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA. The club has been scouting local players. As posted above, this local former MLSer will be next. The Stars currently have 3,832 “Likes” on their Facebook Page and 767 followers on Twitter.
